Daily Planet ripped for running Pickering’s letters, Press’ columns
Far be it from me to propose censoring anyone, having been the victim of censorship myself.
We have seen in the last few years a concerted effort by the media to prevent conservative voices from being heard, up to and including President Donald Trump.
If you dissented from vaccine orthodoxy, you were certain to have your Twitter account suspended; if you questioned the results of the 2020 election, your Facebook postings would be blocked.
Shadow-banning and demonitization became weapons of choice to punish conservatives and anyone who opposed the leftist agenda.In contrast to all that, the Asheville Daily Planet has seen fit to publish letters to the editor and articles which are filled with slanderous lies, vile personal attacks, and outright threats of violence.
The letters which appear over the name “Jake Pickering†are nothing more than the disgusting rants of a certifiable lunatic.
His writings are devoid of any facts or cogent argument and contain debunked conspiracy theories, vitriolic slander and in his latest letter an unveiled call for violence against Republicans.
If a Republican had written anything comparable to “Jake Pickering’s†threat-filled drivel, he would be dealing with an FBI SWAT team at his door and a CNN crew filming the raid.
While some may dismissively laugh off “Jake Pickering†as the buffoon he obviously is, the Asheville Daily Planet carries a nationally syndicated column which might be taken seriously by some. The column is written by Bill Press, a partisan Democrat, in of itself perfectly acceptable if you believe in an honest exchange of ideas.
But Bill Press is anything but honest, or he is as cognitively challenged as “Jake Pickering.â€
Mr. Press’s latest column contains many lies including that “five police officers were killed “on January 6th, 2021. In fact, Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknik, who lay in state in the Capitol, died of natural causes (stroke) on January 7th, 2021. The medical examiner’s autopsy stated that there was no evidence of trauma whatsoever.
The other four police officers who Mr. Press may be alluding to all committed suicide in the days after January 6th. Mr. Press should be aware of these facts.
He is either the worst reporter in Washington — or he is lying.
A combination of those two things is possible. The only person who was undeniably killed on January 6th, 2021, was Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed Trump supporter.
Mr. Press claims that the January 6th committee has proved that President Donald Trump was “the man behind this attempt to overthrow the government.â€
The rest of his column contains more misinformation than CNN anchor Don Lemon could spew during one of his unwatched programs.
While the Asheville Daily Planet gives these people a platform, TV ratings and the growth of conservative media indicate that the people are wising up to what the lying traditional media have been trying to force-feed them.
The Red-Wave coming in November will be a shock to them and hopefully a harbinger of things to come.

Biden’s hypocrisy? Border wall materials piled up in eco-unfriendly way
President accused of being pro-fencer for White House, his beach house, but anti-fencer for U.S. Southern border
The border wall materials could be utilized to build better facilities as obviously the detention centers — no longer in the news today (June 17), but used to be — have NOT improved and many have been SHUT DOWN! (Reuters, March 25).
Scrap metal just piled up sedentary at our border isn’t eco friendly, nor eco up-cycled into a purposeful product!
Why does our administration propagandize to be “environmentally friendly,†but oppose the border wall build that cost taxpayers — so far — over a billion dollars to do absolutely nothing with?
Why do we import our fossil fuels as if oil spills never happened (Exxon Valdese), yet here we are with a president planning another OPEC beg?
You know Exxon commented back (not that I know if you read Fox), but see they are not going to let the president blame them, so (the story) states how they had to borrow during the pandemic to make the demands and are still trying.
You know to borrow from other folks is a pattern our government does know personally very well.
Eco-friendly supposedly is if we get our field from foreign lands makes no sense to any sane individual same as rare earth mining for eco car components is so gosh darn eco.
Steel according to civil today.com lists the many uses in civil engineering for steels.
Steel here is listed showing it’s eco friendliness from reducing CO2 emissions, used for making cars which can be more environmentally friendly, steel making requires low energy for lightweight steel, and biggest point steel is the WORLD’S MOST RECYCLED PRODUCT YET THE BORDER WALL IS NOT USED for all these uses by our current administration that touts eco friendliness! Yet one billion plus dollars is what this has cost!!
What are the negatives with all those steel beams and other construction materials just aging away and guarded versus using the border wall materials on all those roads and bridges so called “ infrastructure†our administration is package peddling like snake oil town to town?
Steel is used in construction and in the three R’s — reduce, reuse and recycle, but not at our border!
President Biden is consistently inconsistent on what he supports! Joe Biden himself as senator used to take a completely opposite stance on our southern border perimeter and declared, “We need a high wall on our southern border!â€
Our president of the United States was in the news for installing a fence — that only an elitist can afford the price tag paid by taxpayers — around his Rehobeth Beach, Del., beach house!
Half a million was the cost for Biden’s beach house fence, according to FreeBeacon.Com!!
I hope you do the math on the perimeter-per-panel cost!
Perhaps the fencing run underground for that cost? It’s evident president Biden is pro-fencer from the White House to his personal vacation beach house, but anti-fence on our nations border.
Certain areas are fenced for politicians protection, but not our (Southern) border’s protection that are already contracted out. Materials there being guarded, wasting $3 million every day!
Building fences on borders is something we do with foreign lands! (Politico reported on the 274-mile, high-tech barrier with watchtowers we paid for between Jordan and Syria.)
How many watchtowers do we have at our own borders?
Then there’s just politicians’ personal safety — the www.Washingtonian.com website reported tall fencing went up outside the Supreme Court.
I am feeling a red wave — and happy about it!

Dems AND Republicans face problems
Problems for Democrats: baby formula shortage, inflation, gas prices, Supreme Court decisions, Ukraine, gun control, COVID vaccines and prescription drug pricing.
The real problem with the Democrats is that they promise so much but don’t deliver much.
On the other hand, Republicans (under the influence of former president Trump) continue with lies and misinformation and “alternative news,†thereby resulting in a politically divided nation.
Clearly, they seem to favor a dictatorship over a democracy.
As an Independent voter I sincerely hope Trump-backers wake up and vote these miscreants out of office.
Both parties need to come up with programs to help American citizens who are hurting because of weak leadership.
I wish President Biden good health for the rest of his term.
The consequences could be disastrous!
