From Staff Reports

HENDERSONVILLE — State Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-Hendersonvlle who is seeking a seat in U.S.  Congress stated in a press release, dated March 9, that “we are racking up new endorsements each week, but I can think of none in which I take more pride than that of the N.C. Police Benevolence Association.”

In its endorsement, the PBA said, “Chuck Edwards demonstrated why his experience and values make him uniquely qualified to represent the voters of his district in Washington.”

To that, Edwards added, “Like I did in Raleigh, I’ll take real action and a strong work ethic with me to Washington, DC, not just words.

Meanwhile, in a press release dated April 7, the PBA noted that it had held a series of interviews for candidates seeking election for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. During the interview process, Chuck Edwards demonstrated why his experience and values make him uniquely qualified to represent the voters of his district in Washington.

Edwards also demonstrated to the North Carolina PBA that he is committed to making strong, effective law enforcement a priority in his campaign. That is why the NCPBA is proud to announce their support by endorsing Chuck Edwards for Congress.

Upon notification of his endorsement from the North Carolina PBA, Chuck Edwards said: “It is one of my life’s highest honors to receive this endorsement from the largest and most active law enforcement advocacy association in North Carolina.” He continued, “These brave men and women place themselves at risk to promote public safety, create community bonds, and uphold the rule of law so that individual liberty may flourish.” He added, “I am grateful that they recognize I have their backs.”

David Rose, who serves as the NCPBA president, said, “We are proud to endorse Chuck Edwards for Congress. He has a proven track record as a business owner, community leader and public servant. During his time in the North Carolina Senate, he has been a fierce advocate against those that would want to defund the police or otherwise erode their abilities to serve the public.

“In Congress, he will continue this advocacy and give the citizens of western North Carolina a steady and reasonable voice. A vote for Chuck Edwards is a vote for the men and women of law enforcement and the citizens they serve.”
