GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Little River Band, billed as returning “armed with an arsenal of memorable songs, superb musicianship and fantastic harmonies,†will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at Niswonger Performing Arts Center here.
During the 1970s and ‘80s, the award-winning group produced a string of gold and platinum albums that generated 13 Top 40 hits, six of which climbed into the Billboard Top 10.
The band’s top hits include “Reminiscing,†“Cool Change,†“Lonesome Loser,†“The Night Owls,†“Take It Easy On Me,†“Help Is on Its Way,†“Happy Anniversary,†“We Two,†“Man On Your Mind,†“The Other Guy,†and “It’s A Long Way There.â€
An event promotion noted that “bassist-vocalist Wayne Nelson joined the band in 1980, and worked alongside founding members with some of the most distinctive harmonies and vocal abilities, and guitarist extraordinaire, Stephen Housden, creating the unique LRB sound. Housden and Nelson worked together to bring Little River Band into the new millennium.â€
