From Staff Reports

MAULDIN, S.C. — Mauldin is putting a spin on its annual tree-lighting with its first Beachin’ Christmas gala featuring the Rhythm City Band from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater at 1010 E. Butler Road.

The festivities will include live “holiday-style” Carolina beach music, a holiday market, pictures with Santa, the annual tree-lighting “and some jolly extras that will help make your spirits bright!” an event promotion stated. “Plus, you don’t want to miss the ‘great reveal’ we have in store for 2022!”

An intermission in the music is scheduled at 7 p.m., at which point the annual tree-lighting ceremony will be held — after which the band will perform for the rest of the gala.

Parking and entry are free — and lawnchairs and/or blankets are welcome. While outside food and beverages are prohibited, food and beverage vendors will be serving on-site. Leashed dogs are allowed at the event. Smoking, skateboards and bicycles are prohibited.

Providing live music for listening and/or dancing is the nine-piece Rhythm City Band, based in Greer, S.C., and billed “as the Upstate’s most versatile band performing music from all genres.”

The event’s hosts are the City of Mauldin and the Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce,

“So bring your chairs and blankets — and dancing shoes — for a holly, jolly time!” Mauldin’s Beachin’ Christmas promotion stated.
