NEWTON —  Two of the greatest bands of all time will face off in a high-energy, adrenaline-pumping musical showdown at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Newton Performing Arts Center at 60 W. 6th St.

Newton, located near Hickory, is about a 96-minute drive from Asheville.

Regarding the show, “The Fab Four, represented by tribute band Abbey Road, will engage in a barrage of hits against premier Rolling Stones tribute band Satisfaction,” an NPAC press release stated. “It’s a face-off you won’t want to miss!

“Taking the side of the Fab Four is Abbey Road, one of the country’s top Beatles tribute bands. With brilliant musicianship and authentic costumes and gear, Abbey Road plays beloved songs spanning the Beatles’ career. 

“They engage in a musical ‘showdown” of the hits against premier Stones tribute band Satisfaction – The International Rolling Stones Show, who offer a faithful rendition of the music and style of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the ‘bad boys’ of the British Invasion.

“The nationally touring show recently concluded a three-month residency at the Harrah’s Reno showroom and a two-month residency at the Harrah’s Laughlin showroom.”

Among the Beatles greatest hits were “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “She Loves You,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Hey Jude” and “All You Need Is Love.”

The Stones, who remain a working band, recorded a plethora of top hits that include “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “Paint It Black.”
