The Buncombe County Board of Education reeks of arrogance and incompetence, according to Chad Nesbitt, long-time local conservative Republican activist and the founder and chief of Skyline News website (at skylinenewsonline.com).

During an Aug. 7 interview with the Daily Planet, Nesbitt began by noting, “Well, I was there (at the Aug. 5 school board meetings) to report on it,” but he said he would be willing to switch gears, temporarily — from a news reporter to a pundit — and share his viewpoint on what he saw.

Most importantly, he said, “I will certainly suggest that concerned parents get out there and run for the school board” in the next election “because the people on the school board now don’t care about your children — they only care about the Democratic Party.

Continuing, he said, “I’ll certainly give you an opinion on it... I saw an arrogance from that entire school board.

“They had the special meeting at 10 that morning, when they said parents could be in attendance and they voted to put (mandate the wearing of) masks on the children that haven’t been vaccinated.

“I never saw such incompetence in my life from (school board members) Amy Churchill and Pat Bryant.”

Further, he said, “No matter what the facts are with COVID-19, they (the school board members) only support the liberal narrative. It’s about the teachers unions, which we all know are very liberal. And so they’re putting politics before children’s lives.”

So what is Nesbitt’s response to the slogan, “Follow the science?”

“Sure, the Constitution is very clear,” he replied. “It’s amazing to see the conspiracies thrown by the Democratic Party to promote their socialist-communist party.

“Nobody wants to talk about 99.7 percent of the people who get COVID and who will survive, based on CDC (Center for Disease Control) data.”

“They’re not even listening to the science,” he lamented, despite their repeated admonition to “Follow the science!”

Nesbitt then reiterated, “It’s disturbing they’re putting politics before our children.” He contended that one cannot “follow the science” when the teachers and students are wearing masks.

“If you ask any of these people who are from the left (as to) what is actually in the vaccine, they can’t tell you. They’re supposed to be the know-it-alls on that — the experts,” but they instead are not well-informed and just repeating a mantra.

“Before they (the liberals) start talking about conspiracies, they need to put the facts out to the people” and then  address “the politics of our lives.

“I think China is behind this. This is where the COVID-19 came from. The number one sponsor of the Democratic Party is China. The want everyone in the United States to succumb to their communist ways. 

“I honestly believe we’re under attack from communist China. They’re the one leading this effort. They attacked us and the rest of the world with the coronavirus. The Democratic Party is the mouthpiece for communist China.”

Nesbitt then fired a verbal shot at some of the local news media, noting, “I’m not surprised by their blatant attacks on Americans … their failing newspapers getting thinner and thinner.” He then noted he specifically was referring to the Asheville Citizen Times and Mountain Xpress.

“They (the ACT and MX) — and rarely (Asheville television station) WLOS — have a (leftist) narrative that they give to the most liberal county in the state,” Nesbitt said. 

“That’s the problem with the media today... WLOS has two liberal news directors — and they have some astonishing reporters. I think there’s some good people over there (at WLOS) with common sense, but they won’t let those reporters report the news.”
