“Abuse of words has been the great instrument of sophistry and chicanery, of party, faction, and division of society.â€

Special to the Daily Planet
At last count, President Trump has likely secured a second term.
Will Hollywood have to secure a fleet of cruise boats to handle the promised mass migration to Cuba, Venezuela and other advanced cultures?
In spite of hand-wringing from virtue signalers like the “Lincoln Project†and excessive bell-ringing by the candidate himself, conservative thinkers got that Donald Trump was our only “vote your values†option.
Looking beyond personality to policy – on shutdowns, taxes, rule of law, care with our war fighters, economic vitality, public safety, America first, China, new life, 2nd Amendment rights, border protection, regulatory constraint or draining the swamp – Trump is the guy.
The other guy? Unfortunately for those trying to sell the con, some voters were paying attention to the deep poo-poo in his promises and policies.
There’s also that nagging little “non-issue†father-son-money-corruption matter that’s finally seeing some light of day. If you’re confused by why most media outlets dodged this one, it’s helpful to remember that the best liars lie to themselves first.
But that’s wasn’t Joe “Big Man†Biden’s biggest problem. His real weak spot was the fact he’s the point-man for the most divisive, antagonistic and dangerous political party in our country’s history.
More donkey illumination is in order.
Race relations
How many people do you know who judge a man’s merit by their skin color? How much time do you spend with folks who think that way? How often do you think that way?
The fact is we’ve made tremendous progress on racism. Very few American’s endorse this kind of thinking, behavior or immaturity. The vast majority have graduated to a new day where we measure a man by other “c†words like character, choices, convictions and culture.
The left makes sure none of us celebrate that achievement. The why is easy – keeping us racially divided ensures their power equation. A united America is a successful America and a successful America is immune to the left’s socialistic seductions.
Abortion
To date we’ve intercepted 65 million new lives through legal abortions. 99-plus percent had absolutely nothing to do with a woman’s health. The mission was convenience.
In today’s medical world, a woman’s life is so seldom put in jeopardy per a new pregnancy that the statistics are barely traceable. Yet according to the left, allowing individual states to address this complex social issue in their own way will result in the mass shredding of womankind.
May one suggest the opposite? Women civilize the world. Anybody who thinks neutering the importance of that contribution and trivializing the horrific impact of 65 million lost children has an agenda that’s about anything but protecting women.
Our borders, safety and values matter
The left wants open borders, social instability and unassimilated illegal immigrants because they know that the vulnerable, desperate, and uninformed will reliably vote for liberal candidates who promise something for nothing.
Secure borders, public safety and good values – President Trump was rewarded for understanding we can’t have a country without all three.
Economic vitality
No matter the denials, the Democrat Party is dedicated to an economic model that makes government, deficits and bureaucracies bigger. That means people and our liberties, property, and prosperity get smaller.
Big government or big people? We can’t have both. Enough Americans got this dangerous, divisive equation and voted for the latter.
In the end
Asheville’s daily paper – like our TV station – has a notorious liberal bias. I recently sent them a letter that apparently didn’t make the cut. It might serve us today as we look at why this election is poised to be 2016 repeat:
“Opportunities to share a conservative take in the C-T are always appreciated. A recent personal submission suggesting President Trump merits a second term on the basis of policies, not personality, was no exception.
“Enter C-T journalist John Boyle with full page Sunday spread offering oppositional view. There are three things one can always count on from Mr. Boyle – talent, humor and relentless service as the local marketing agent for the liberal-progressive movement.
“That is what it is, but may one suggest his enthusiasm for the left’s ‘something for nothing’ seduction script and Mr. Biden’s chameleon-like skills at setting the trap, merits challenge?
“Mr. Boyle and his team have a fascinating tendency to attack Trump’s attraction to
exaggeration, mockery, and hyperbole with the very same behaviors they criticize in him. Perhaps there’s truth in the suggestion we become like those we hate?
“It’s a personal view that this election comes down to a simple choice. There’s one candidate representing a political movement devoted to accelerating America’s slide. There’s another with a demonstrated ability to slow that slide down. My opinion suggests America’s majority will be better served by investing their vote in the latter.â€
A willingness to slow the slide has earned this president a second shot….
