BLACK MOUNTAIN — The Buncombe County Democratic Party will be seeking new leadership when it holds its annual convention at 10 a.m. April 8 at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly here.

The convention is open to all registered Democrats.

Denise Marecki is seeking the post of first vice chair, while both Second Vice Chair Michael Vavrek and Treasurer Keith Thoimpson are running for re-election.

Jeff Rose, a sofeward developer, has said he will seek the chairman’s post, held by Kathy Sinclair for six years. Sinclair has announced that she is not seeking re-election.
