Power to the UNC Asheville campus has now been restored and campus buildings are operational at this time, UNCA spokesman Steve Plever said Dec. 2.
At approximately noon today (Dec. 2), Duke Energy Progress completed the replacement of a transformer that had been damaged by a raccoon, and UNC Asheville facilities personnel restored power and normal operations to campus buildings.
Ramsey Library reopened at 1:30 p.m. and will remain open until 2 a.m. Campus Recreation facilities also have reopened and will follow their regular schedule until 11 p.m. Highsmith University Union and the Dining Hall are also open.
Normal campus operations resumed Tuesday, Dec. 3, which was a pre-finals reading day for students. Final exams begin on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
