SDS protests war spending

The UNC Asheville chapter of Students for a Democratic Society protested money the U.S. government spends for the military in Afghanistan on the Quad on Oct. 7. Following a walkout from classes, rally speakers asked that the money be spent on education instead of the war effort. About 50 to 75 people, including students and faculty members, attended the protest on a sunny late morning. Daily Planet Staff Photo
