Asheville police arrest 4; 2 injured in knife fight

The Asheville Police Department arrested four suspects, all Arden residents, around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 14, after a drug-related altercation that left two people injured.

 The suspects were allegedly involved in a fight that arose during a drug transaction at Sweeten Creek Road and Royal Pines Drive. The two unidentified people who were injured were treated at Mission Hospitals.

The four men arrested in the incident are:

?ÿ Eric Carl Kastner, 27, charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and one count of resisting, delaying and obstructing arrest.

?ÿ Patrick Andrew Shomo, 23, charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

?ÿ John Lawrence Woody, 21, charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

?ÿ James Clayton Dalton, 24, charged with one count of damage to personal property.
All the suspects were transported to the Buncombe County Detention Facility, where all except Dalton are being held on a $40,000 secured bond. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
