The annual Music by the Lake Series for 2009 began on May 31 featuring Reggae Infinity at Blue Ridge Community College in East Flat Rock. The concert began 45 minutes late because of a mixup with the group’s sound man. The crowd of 200 or so people didn’t seem to mind, as the setting was delightful. Though based in Columbia, S.C., Reggae Infinity’s members hail from various islands in the Caribbean. The group is dedicated to playing original, positive music, along with occasional covers. The next Music by the Lake concert — from 5 to 7 p.m. June 14 — will feature The Buckerettes, Asheville’s only cowgirl band.
