The UNC Asheville Campus Police charges Forest Trevor Pivirotto about 10:19 p.m. Oct. 9 with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possessing a knife on campus.
Pivirotto, 18, lives at 10 Alexander Drive in Asheville, also was charged with failing to wear a safety helmet while operating a moped. He is listed as a student at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.
He was observed riding a moped down the sidewalk from Governors Hall onto University Heights without wearing a helmet, the police reported.
Upon stopping Pivirotto, police asked him if he had any drugs or weapons on him. He admitted to having a knife in his waistband.
In other recent UNCA activity:
• Charged John Cowell Buscarino with larceny in the theft of items with
a total value of $340, including a practical reading techniques book, a
Tascam DR1 audio recorder and a “Moulin Rouge” DVD from Lipinsky Hall.
He reportedly removed the items from a book bag at 1 p.m. Oct. 10.
Buscarino, 22, lives in Mills Hall on the UNCA campus. The investigation is continuing.
• Charged Alexander Thomas Greer with underage possession of an
alcoholic beverage and escape from custody or resisting arrest early
on Oct. 5
Greer, 19, lives at 3 Greenleaf Court in Johnson City, Tenn.
He was being held under a $300 bond at the Buncombe County Detention Center.
• Are still investigating an incident of criminal marking on walls and
painting graffiti on buildings, generators and dump, with a total
estimated value of $1,000.
The incident, which was reported about 11:15 a.m. Oct. 3, occurred at Highsmith University Union, Mills Hall and Founders Hall.
• Charged Julian Anthony Hinshaw with larceny of a Tonal Harmony Volume
No. 6 book and an Alexander Scriabin Complete Preludes and Etudes book,
for a total of $155 abot 4:45 p.m. Oct. 3 in Lipinsky Hall at UNCA.
Hinshaw, 19, lives as 255 Barnard Ave. in Asheville.
The police are investigating further.
• Charged Marshall Allen Mason IV with trespassing, possession of drug
paraphernalia and possessing an open container of alcohol at 8:30 p.m.
Oct. 2 at 303 Ashe Hall.
He was being held under a $2,500 bond at the Buncombe County Detention Center.
