During an a capella rendition of Curtis Mayfield’s “It’s Alright,” Rick Gundersen, the lead singer of the Asheville-based cover band Sound Investment, sinks to the floor as his fellow performers playfully wave towels over him, as if to cool him off. The action occurred during the band’s performance on Aug. 8 during the weekly Music on Main Street concert series near the Visitors Center in downtown Hendersonville. The four-piece band plays a wide array of danceable tunes from the 1960s and ‘70s, ranging from hits by The Beatles to The Supremes.
The members that make up Sound Investment are Rick Gundersen, lead guitar and vocals, Kevin Filson, bassist and vocalist, drummer and vocalist Dan Weingartz, and guitar and vocalist Rodney Gibson. All four band members have been performing since junior high school. Asheville Daily Planet Staff Photo
