SWANNANOA — Warren Wilson College recently placed No. 2 on a list of “10 of the Greenest Colleges in America” as rated by TheDailyGreen.com, an online publication of Hearst Communications.

 In its feature subtitled “These Schools Are at the Head of the Class in Going Green,” the publication noted that WWC “has environmental sustainability baked right into its core” and that its students “are aces at recycling and composting.”

It also observed that the college is “a leader in green building and design.”

The recognition is one of several WWC has received in recent months from various magazines.
