Jason Bodnar of Candler finished 26th overall in a field of 25,283 runners in the Boston Marathon this past Monday.
The 37-year-old dentist, who was competing in his first marathon since 2003, finished the 26-mile, 385-yard race in two hours, 25 minutes and 22 seconds.
The overall winner was Kenyan Robert Cheruiyot, who finished the men’s race in 2:07:46, while Ethiopian Dire Tune snared the women’s run in 2:25:25, three seconds slower than Bodnar’s time.
Bodnar, who quit training for marathons to care for his wife Jennifer — who is well now and accompanied him to Boston — reportedly said after the race that he is unsure if he will run in future Boston Marathons.
