Even before April Fool’s Day this past Tuesday, jokes abounded around Asheville about global warming affecting the level of Beaver Lake. Actually, the North Asheville landmark is being drained so that a new valve and toe drain can be installed. Some months ago, the lake was drained for work on the control system.
