Daylight-saving time will begin at 2 a.m. Sunday in most parts of the United States, including Western North Carolina.
At that time, clocks should be advanced one hour forward. Therefore, first light Sunday will arrive an hour later and darkness will fall an hour later.
Beginning in 2007, Congress lengthened DST to add an extra month. It now begins on the first Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.
