Three people were inducted into UNC Asheville’s Athletics Hall of Fame in an on-campus ceremony last Wednesday night.
Inducted were athletic-department contributor Dave Hart of Asheville, basketball standout Paul Allen and former volleyball player Elissa Mount.
Hart has been a consultant and has spearheaded the Dave Hart Golf
Tournament, an event that has raised more than $300,000 for
student-athlete scholarships since 1996.
Allen, a 1984 graduate, finished his basketball career at UNCA
as the school’s third all-time leading scorer with 1,693 points. He was
an All-District 26 selection twice and led the Bulldogs in scoring for
four consecutive years.
Mount, a 1994 graduate, is UNCA’s all-time career leader in kills (1,775), digs (2,179) and attempts (4,993).
