Rowers of the Royal Navy of Thailand, clad in the uniforms of ancient Siamese warriors, propel the galley Narai Song Suban during the celebration of the royal river parade in honor of the 80th birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 5. A total of 52 royal boats powered by oars, and 2,098 Marine officers adorned with colorful uniforms, enlivened a parade spanning more than 3 miles that concluded on the wharf in front of Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn).
