Reader questions policy
of unsigned opinion column
You really should somehow ìsignî your opinion column.
Itís good to know if the entire staff contributed or is it the editor-in-chief, the publisher, individual staff members? It would add more accountability and credibility to the column. Without it, I feel like someoneís trying to hide.
Anyway, thanks for the good paper.

EDITORíS NOTE: All columns, cartoons and letters to the editor
appearing in the Daily Planet reflect the opinions of their authors,
while the paperís weekly editorial, labeled ìThe Daily Planetís
Opinion,î represents the institutional viewpoint of the newspaper. The
New York Times and most of the worldís better newspapers take stances ó
as entities ó on issues with unsigned editorials. Ultimately, Daily
Planet Publisher and Editor John North is responsible for the content
of the paperís editorials, although he does not necessarily write them.
Cityís sign law criticized,
termed silly by letter writer
Presently the so-called Asheville sign law has come under more
questioning as it develops it would ban display of the American flag
recently atop a fireworks sellerís location.
If there is any sillier ruling than our current sign law, it would be
hard to find. Old signs, weathered and faded, about a product no longer
available such as the Interstate Motel sign, where a room hasnít been
rented in years are allowed to stand because it would be expensive for
the owner to remove it. Yet the large round convex Coca-Cola sign
facing Pack Square quietly and mysteriously disappears because it had
value someone could make off with.
An ordnance as silly and stupid as this one should quietly go the way of the Coca Cola sign and simply disappear.
