Columnist, ëGang of Fourí
criticized for pushing ëtruthí
In ìSpiritual ideals needed for successful politicsî Bill Walz has significantly redefined spirituality to mean ìthe embrace of interconnectedness and self-transcendent love.î He also refers to ìtrue spirituality.î I suspect that Bill Walz has discovered TRUTH.
Now, when anyone discovers TRUTH, watch out. Right-wing fanatics know the TRUTH. The Taliban knows the TRUTH. Now Bill Walz knows the TRUTH. Progressives know the TRUTH.
Modern ìprogressivesî are the philosophical descendants of our own New
England puritans. What is a puritan? This is a person who must purify
others. If anyone resists the TRUTH, then he/she must be burned at the
stake.
We live in a country founded upon the individual freedom to discover oneís own version of the truth and to live accordingly.†
Modern progressives might have an excellent point about
interconnectedness and self-transcendent love. I commend their good
will and encourage them to personally live the TRUTH that they know.
However, when by the force of government, they demand that I adhere to
their philosophy, they become philosophical and/or spiritual tyrants.
If they confiscate tax monies from me based upon their own
spirituality, are they not establishing their own religion in
government? Have they not even stolen from me?† Have they not become
just another version of the right wing that they hate so much?
Whatever they have done, they have failed to understand freedom and
thus have destroyed it. Democrats and Republicans are also guilty of
the same breach of understanding.
The recent political maneuverings of the Asheville Gang of Four exemplify all this quite nicely.

Embracing of ëReal ID Actí
by state lamented by reader
†
I am deeply saddened, but not very surprised, to discover that our
elected North Carolina representatives have so warmly embraced the
Federal ìReal ID Act.î
This act, along with other anti-American legislation like the ìUSA
PATRIOT Act,î continues to perpetrate a grievous crime against We the
People, disgracing every single American who has ever served and given
his life in the name of freedom.
Such authoritarian laws undermine the very essence of individual
liberty, upon which our country was based.† If our Founding Fathers
were still alive, as if immortal, all these years of our nationís
history, they would have surely advocated a massive revolution even by
the time the 14th & 16th Amendments were enacted.
While our federal government wages a mock ìwar on terrorism,î it
continues passing into law Nazi-like dictates which serve to strengthen
the terrorist movement, rather than thwarting it.
By the looks of it, this ìReal ID Actî will be imposed upon Americans
without hardly noticing a difference in their N.C. ìdriverís licenseî
when they go to renew it later this year;† perhaps not as deceptive as
the government contract most all Americans entered into at birth
without choice ó the Social Security system ó but seemingly along the
same lines.
Have our government ìleadersî merely been deceived and misguided to the
point of no turning back on this drive to continue passing such
anti-American legislation? Or are they deliberately attempting to
destroy what remaining vestige of liberty our country has left?
Just say no to tyranny!

News story on rally termed
accurate; editorial blasted
I donít believe you actually listened to the (June 20 anti-illegal
immigration) rally ó did you have a Soduko (sic) puzzle with you?
I was there and recorded the entire event on video for my blog. I heard no racism from the speakers.
Your original coverage was good, even better than the Asheville Waste of Times, and I even commented upon that belief.
Your opinion (editorial in the Daily Planet), however, sounds like something in the Asheville Waste of Timesí LTE Section.
Your opinions do help me prove the point that the left are accomplices in the Illegal Alien Invasion, so keep them coming!

P.S. ó The New Media is here, and can cover events in greater depth,
and can allow one to ìbe thereî as it happened. Be careful when trying
to spread lies about events when someone can pull up the whole thing
and watch it for themselves....
