UNC Asheville associate chemistry professor Herman Holt recently was named chairman of the Big South Conference Faculty Athletics Representatives.

The appointment was announced at the Big South Conference annual spring meeting. Holtís two-year term began this past Sunday.

In addition, the BSC noted that Holt has been selected to a position on the NCAA Academic, Eligibility and Compliance Committee.
