GREENVILLE, S.C. — Bob Jones University has unveiled its new BJU SC Free Tuition Guarantee, offering eligible state residents the opportunity to receive a tuition-free education starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, a BYU press release noted on Nov. 9.
The program will cover up to four years of undergraduate study at BJU for qualifying students.
“We are committed to investing in our local community by making a quality Christian liberal arts education more affordable and accessible,” BJU President Josh Crockett said in the release.
“Increasingly, the cost of higher education has become an obstacle for students and their families. The SC Free Tuition Guarantee provides substantial savings, reduces the need for loans, and expands higher education opportunities for South Carolinians.”
The BJU SC Free Tuition Guarantee covers up to 100 percent of tuition and program fees after applying all other available federal, state and institutional aid.
Those from families with an adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less — as reflected on their most current Free Application for Federal Student Aid — are eligible for the program.
To qualify, students must be admitted to a 2- or 4-year BJU program, annually submit the FAFSA application by Aug. 1, and maintain full-time enrollment status.
“BJU has consistently ranked high in the U.S. News & World Report for Social Mobility and is currently No. 4 among Regional Universities in the South,” the release stated. “The Social Mobility score reflects the graduation rates of students receiving federal Pell Grants, with approximately 43 percent of BJU students receiving this aid. On average, students at BJU receive $15,803 in financial assistance, and in the Class of 2024, nearly 40 percent graduated debt-free.”
