Trump’s diversionary tactics a reminder of an R.E.M. son

If Kim Jong-Un or President Trump decides to initiate WW III (aka “preventive strike”) to divert attention from the many investigations coming up as well as continuing allegations by both sides, an appropriate theme song would be R.E.M.’s  “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It.”

Claims vindicated by tea party, conservative groups

On Oct. 26, the Trump DOJ (Department of Justice) settled the lawsuit with the IRS over Tea Party organizations that were targeted by the Obama IRS administration.

Yes. Asheville Tea Party was one of those 400 organizations targeted and we are involved in the lawsuit.

The government’s settlement fully vindicates the claims that the IRS targeted Tea Party and conservative groups based on their political point of view.

The IRS  admitted in federal court that it wrongfully targeted Tea Party and conservative groups during the Obama Administration and issued an apology.

The IRS is also consenting to a court order that prohibits it from ever again engaging in this form of unconstitutional discrimination.

It’s been a long haul for us. We applied for our 501c3 on April 27, 2009. Finally, after four and a half long years of haggling, harassment, phone calls and correspondence with the IRS who requested information that would have bankrupted us had we complied with their absurd lists of items, we finally received a 501c4 status on Oct. 31, 2013.

This was largely due to the efforts of our super star congressman, Mark Meadows who intervened on our behalf. Thank YOU!

When the IRS wanted to know what we were reading, we sent them a U.S. Constitution. When they wanted our newsletters, we sent the newsletter of our IRS protest outside the Federal Building in Asheville.  Unfortunately, many tea party and conservatives  organizations went “dark”  under their pressure. WE DID NOT.

This atrocity by the IRS should never have happened. The IRS now admits their treatment of conservative groups was wrong.

Neither the Firing IRS Chief John Koskinen nor another empty 2013-like apology from “Liar” Lois Learner who strenuously denied and shifted blame to others, is appropriate for the gross violation of our First Amendment right to free speech.

We prefer an orange jump suit and a perp walk.

Not true to say poor-/middle-class pay no income tax

I recently saw an article replete with right-wing rant straight out of Trumpville; it may have been your paper or those other people with the “big” paper.

In any case, I want to comment on only one created “fact.” The idea was advanced that the poor-/middle-class pay no income tax: “45 percent of the Americans who pay no income tax.”

Surely any who can read are aware that 1/3 (33 percent) of the IRS income is from the labor tax or FICA. The kid offering burgers at the drive-in has her labor taxed at 15.3 percent; however the executive  at $500,000 is taxed at only 3.8 percent as the cap on FICA is the first $127,200.

Or we could look at a quarterback of an NFL team making about $20 million a year; labor tax of less than 1/10 of 1 percent.

This is called regressive taxation and our FICA is perhaps the most abusive in the world.

Factually a small portion (2.9 percent) of FICA is medicare while remainder is social security.  Also the employee pays one half or 7.65 percent, but the total is a 15.3 percent labor tax and it all goes to the IRS.  The employer pays the other half.

Let us not forget that for years the Congress has raided the social security trust fund transferring the monies to the general fund and leaving IOUs in the trust fund to be redeemed (if ever) by your grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The conclusion is obvious:  remove the $127,200 cap.  Then let Warren Buffet & Bill Gates pay the same FICA rate a the kid at the burger joint.

Repent, turn away from evil to follow God's command

God’s command to mankind has always been “be righteous and do good.”

But the history of mankind has shown the inability of man to follow God’s Word.

The perverted mind of some call good evil, and evil good.

After killing eight precious innocent human beings and injuring others, the terrorist in New York City said that he “felt good.”

Why? Because to him evil is good!

Good, because Islam teaches that killing unbelievers gets, not only the killer, but 70 family members to Heaven, where the killer will be rewarded with 72 pretty virgins and privacy with those virgins.

However, the only two places murderers go is Hell, and later the Lake of Fire, where fire, brimstone and darkness co-exist.

No telling why the Las Vegas shooter thought murdering 58 and injuring hundreds, was good. Maybe fame!

So why does a large number of American judges, public figures, politicians, and general public, support the evil practice of killing innocent unborn babies?

They are calling evil good, and going against God’s command to “be righteous and good.”

Repent, and turn away from evil, is God’s will.
