 Hunter-band-No.-2.jpg
The Big Ron Hunter Blues Band played for two hours during an outside concert on the evening of June 29 during the Concerts on the Quad series at UNC Asheville. The concert drew several thousand people, who savored the music and relaxes in lawnchairs and blankets on a balmy summer night. The series will continue through July 13. Hunter hails from around Winston-Salem. He picked up guitar in the 1960s and played in various local bands. He was mentored by bluesman Guitar Gabriel and developed his unique style while raising a family and working a day job. Retired now, Hunter is looking to break into the blues scene and play his music. Daily Planet Staff Photo
